Components

  • Deck

excellent, resistant, beautifull, perfrect for my stance

  • Trucks

    Pending

    MelonenKackeSpace Truck 1

    140mm 50°

Stable, pumpy, perfect, easy, reliable. Changing King pin every 2500km - broked one once at 4 000km-

  • Brackets

    Front, perfect height

  • Trucks

Perfect wit the Drop II fork and the flex of the long Procyon Speed. The wiggle is nice, they dont need recessed bushing like for example Lepsk8 C-Tail. The drop is just perfect and really adapted.

  • Wheels

    Pending

    88Double Dragon

    88mm

Very efficient for rough roads, and very different from the poor performances of the blue and weight 88s Mc Fly : they roll very well, with momentum, they grip also very efficiently, they dont slide under rain, and also on steel plates. They are light when uphilling ( what a joy to come back from heavy hokkus). And they ABSORB really nicely vibrations on real rough roads ! Really a great combo of weight, diameter and performances.

  • Bushings

    Pending

    RiptideAPS

    88A

    Front: Board side, barrel

  • Bushings

    Pending

    RiptideWFB

    83A

Front: Road side, barrel. Better for smooth pumping, as they re is a hole in APS nomenclatura in duro.

  • Bushings

    Pending

    RiptideAPS Cone

    88A

    Rear, perfect

  • Bearings

    Pending

    SeismicXT steel

    6 balls

Fragile if you dont have a Tool with a spacer inside. You can crush the caps easely. Except this subtilty, very effectiv dust sealled, reliable bearing, good cover. For maintenance, G Bomb are a less fragile and less pricy option . big balls have my preference

  • Grip tape

    Pending

    SeismicLockton

    60

grippy. perfect for pumping and lasting long time

  • Footstop

    Pending

    ExileFootstop

    perfect, the best foot stop

  • Other

    Pending

    ExileMudflaps

On the front. Perfect with rain, i was completly surprised how clean where my pants when going to work with the mudlflaps. Be aware the edge may cut a little bit your hands. No strong vibration sounds. Perfect for rainy countries.

Rider notes

I m mosty riding on roads, i dont have any bike lanes around. My set up is stable, and i come back to smaller wheels, wich gaved me beter comfort and ease to push. When touring in France, i m taking time to explore beautiful lanes i dont have usually. my average is 17.5km/h usually. Riding all the year (usually 4000km) under rain, winter, summer.

Pros

Stable, reliable, long distance oriented. The procyion has a nice flex, i can get my backpack and add 10kg without critical loose of performances.its less pumpy, but its ok. Thats a board ! The two drop fork from SSS are just the right thing to do in distance. My personnal height underboard for safety is without any load between 5.5 and 6cm heigh. its preserves mostly from all the bumps and avoid any accident, especially when not on pure lanes.

Cons

You cant turn easely at middle speed, needs to footbreak when a real turn is needed. Its a long ship, done for straight lines and long rides not for slaloms and agile city commuting

Why it works

Its Melonenkacke. Talented Human made. Adapted to my weight and my hips ( mongo on it is perfect for my body and stance, i m not fighting with my placement legs, especially on big distance when tireness come and you have accidents because of a too little deck). Double Dragons wheels are really friendly, and you dont encounter with them the "low speed - falling on a little rock" syndrom of green hokkus.

What I would change

if i want a more agile board, maybe one day. But honnestly i will never find such a confort like this board. Done for distance, by distance skatters
